Berberis gagnepainii C.K. Schneider (China) – A rare but increasing escape from cultivation. Recorded from 2005 onwards on the ruines of the old city walls of Menen, obviously birdsown. Very persistent but not becoming naturalised yet.
In this population leaves are linear-lanceolate and the specimens obviously belong with var. lanceifolia Ahrendt, the most common variant in cultivation.
