Celastrus

Celastrus is a genus of ca. 30 species native to tropical and warm-temperate regions (predominantly in the northern hemisphere). None is native in Europe but six species are cultivated as ornamentals (Vickery 1997). One species, Celastrus orbiculatus, is often considered to be a noxious environmental weed outside its native distribution range.
