Elsholtzia ciliata

Elsholtzia ciliata (Thunb.) N. Hyl. (syn.: E. cristata Willd., E. patrinii (Lepechin) Garcke) (Asia) – A very rare and ephemeral alien. Recorded in 1997 as an urban weed in Liège (Dieu & al. 1997), without obvious vector of introduction. In 2000 also seen on a demolition site of a former grain mill at the Albertkanaal in Merksem (a single specimen), along with, among others, Lepyrodiclis holosteoides (see Verloove 2003).
