Kolkwitzia amabilis

Kolkwitzia amabilis Graebner (China) – An exceptional escape from cultivation. A single shrub was found on the verge of spontaneous woodland (on debris of building materials) in Kortrijk in 2012.

Records of Kolkwitzia amabilis are rather sparse in Europe although it is not rare in cultivation. It is known to self seed for instance in the British Isles (Stace 2010; see also Clement 1984).
