Nonea

Nonea Med.

Nonea is a genus of 42 species, mainly native in SW Asia. Its traditional generic limits were recently slightly changed and are now in accordance with molecular phylogenetic studies (Selvi & al. 2006). One annual species, Nonea lutea, is sometimes cultivated for ornament (Mill 2000), although it is rather unshowy and may behave as an undesirable weed.

Additional aliens: Nonea pulla (L.) DC. (E-Eur., C-As., vector unknown; see Lambinon 1995) and N. rosea (Bieb.) Link (Caucasus, seed alien).
