Arundo

Arundo L.

Arundo is a genus of five species (see Danin 2004, Hardion & al. 2012), all originally confined to the Old World (Mediterranean region to China). At least one species, Arundo donax L., is widely cultivated as an ornamental (Walters & al. 1984, Jäger & al. 2008), less frequently also as a windbreak or for erosion control (Allred 2003).
