Cornaceae

Cornaceae

(incl. Nyssaceae)

Aucuba, traditionally placed in Cornaceae, has been removed to Garryaceae following recent phylogenetic research. Both are only very remotely related and even belong to different orders (Cornales versus Garryales; see APG III 2009). Likewise, Nyssaceae, often treated as a family of its own, should be included in Cornaceae.Saplings of Davidia involucrata Baillon have been recorded under a planted tree in Baudour (Bois de Baudour) since 2009 (comm. P. Dupriez).
