Hesperis

Hesperis L.

Hesperis is a genus of ca. 25-45 species (depending on species boundaries), mostly native to Eurasia. Rather few species are cultivated as ornamentals in Europe (see Springate 1995) and only one is widespread in cultivation (Hesperis matronalis).
