3. Phleum subulatum (Savi) Aschers. et Graebn. (syn.: P. bellardii Willk.) (Medit., SW-As.) – An exceptional alien, primarily introduced with grain and wool. Much decreasing lately. Formerly recorded in Virton (1909), Mechelen (1936), Oostende (1948) and as a rare wool alien in the Vesdre valley (between 1895 and 1903). Probably last recorded on a municipal dump in Merksem in 1953.
The Belgian collections belong to var. subulatum with glumes glabrous along keel.
