2. Anaphalis triplinervis (Sims) C.B. Clarke (Himalayas) – A very rare and ephemeral escape from cultivation or garden throw-out. Recorded a few times, at first on a dump in Vlierzele in 2005 (initially as Anaphalis margaritacea), then in Heule (2015) and Leuven (2017). Possibly overlooked and widely confused with A. margaritacea.
Anaphalis triplinervis is a very variable species (see for instance Tebbitt 2000) and some forms are rather similar to A. margaritacea. The usual garden plant (var. triplinervis) has wider leaves that are obviously triple-nerved, slightly larger heads and more acute bracts.
