Delphinium elatum L. (C and NE Eur., C and N As.) – A very rare and ephemeral escape from cultivation. Recorded only twice so far, in 1949, in the valley of river Vesdre near Verviers and in 2017 in a quarry in Raeren, obviously persisting from garden waste.
Delphinium elatum is a very popular garden plant. Plants in horticulture usually are ‘improved’ cultivars with more numerous sepals, deviating flower color, etc. They are best referred to as D. elatum Group.
