Limnanthaceae

Limnanthaceae

Limnanthaceae is a small family restricted to North America. It traditionally counted two genera, Floerkea Willd. and Limnanthes R. Brown, and this seems to be confirmed by molecular data (Meyers & al. 2010). For some time it was believed to be part of the Geraniaceae family.

One of the genera, Limnanthes, is of some importance horticulturally.
