Linaria chalepensis

Linaria chalepensis (L.) Mill. (Medit.) – A very rare and ephemeral alien. Probably recorded only twice: at first in 1954 on a grain dump near Verviers and also in 2002 on the verge of an unloading quay for cereals in the port area of Roeselare (Verloove 2006). Linaria chalepensis is a weed of cereal fields in its area of origin but only rarely encountered elsewhere, for instance in the British Isles (Clement & Foster 1994) and in Scandinavia (Karlson 1997).
