Rodgersia podophylla

Rodgersia podophylla A. Gray (China, Japan, Korea) – An exceptional escape from cultivation. A subspontaneous individual was seen in 2016 in Vrijbroekpark in Mechelen, where it is also cultivated.
This species is slightly more frequent as an escape in Europe than R. aesculifolia. It is known from the British Isles (Clement & Foster 1994, Stace 2010), Scandinavia (Karlsson 1997), Ireland (Reynolds 2002) and, more recently, two localities were discovered in Germany as well (Fuchs & al. 2008).
Rodgersia podophylla differs from R. aesculifolia in leaflets that are 3(-5) lobed at apex.
