Tellima

Tellima R. Br.

Tellima is a monospecific genus native to western North America. Its single species, Tellima grandiflora (Pursh) Douglas ex Lindley, is widely grown as an ornamental, also in Belgium where it has been able to naturalize.
This genus is closely similar and related to, among others, Heuchera and Tolmiea. It is easily separated from both in stamen number (10 vs. 3 or 5).
