Taxodium distichum
1. Taxodium distichum (L.) L.C.M. Rich. (syn.: Cupressus disticha L.) (SE-N-Am.) – Frequently cultivated in public gardens and parks, often in the vicinity of ponds and lakes. Exceptionally escaping: first seen on an old wall in 2000 in Gent (a tall tree, still persisting). Subsequently also regularly seen on the margins of an exposed pond in a park in Antwerpen, for instance in 2004 and 2017 (numerous seedlings, apparently ephemeral). Probably overlooked elsewhere.
