Thalictrum aquilegiifolium
Thalictrum aquilegiifolium L. (Eurasia) – A very rare and mostly ephemeral escape from or relic of cultivation. Apparently first documented from woodland in Petersheim (near Lanaken) in 1856. In the 19th century also collected in Baulers (Nivelles), Beaufays and Grand Rechain. In the 20th century seen, for instance, in Barse (riverlet Hoyoux), Malmedy and Deurne (as an escape in Rivierenhof). In the past years documented from a few localities (see http://waarnemingen.be): Lubbeek (abandoned sandpit close to garden center), Spa (woodland) and Zonhoven (former railway track in nature reserve De Teut). In the latter locality Thalictrum aquilegiifolium is known since at least 2007 and more or less established. It might have been introduced on purpose. It grows along with other rare garden plants such as Digitalis lutea and Tanacetum macrophyllum.
